§ 374-2. Definitions.

  • For the purpose of this article, the following shall serve to define the subject matter hereof:
    COMPUTERS AND CONSUMER ELECTRONICS
    Includes a computer central processing unit and associated hardware, including keyboards, modems, printers, scanners and fax machines, cathode ray tubes, cathode ray tube devices, flat panel displays or similar video display devices with a screen that is greater than four inches measured diagonally and that contains one or more circuit boards, including, but not limited to, televisions and cell phones. Also includes VCRs, radios and landline telephones.
    CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS
    Any and all materials arising out of the erection, alteration, demolition or refurbishing of buildings and/or structures.
    GARBAGE
    Animal and vegetable matter that has been used as food, or was intended to be used for food, and the waste therefrom; and dead animals or fish or parts of same, also including food condemned by the Board of Health.
    SOLID WASTE
    Includes all garbage, trash and other discarded materials resulting from commercial, domestic and community activities. Items shall include, but not be limited to, grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, weeds and household appliances.
    TRASH
    Any and all household and business debris, refuse and castoffs, including discarded furniture, appliances and other large items not particularly described as garbage, but said definition does not include the trash and debris arising out of the erection, alteration, demolition or refurbishing of buildings or structures.
    WHITE GOODS
    Includes household appliances such as clothes washers, clothes dryers, household refrigerators and household freezers (including household appliances containing chlorofluorocarbon [CFC] and Freon).
