§ 232-13. Memorial plaques.

  • The City of North Wildwood shall permit memorials to remember individuals and families through a bench/picnic table dedication program. Memorial plaques shall be placed on benches and picnic tables according to the following regulations:
    A. 
    The fee for a plaque on a bench for a dedication period of five years shall be $750. The fee for ten-year dedication period shall be $1,350.
    B. 
    The fee for a plaque on a picnic table for a dedication period of five years shall be $1,500. The fee for a ten-year dedication period shall be $2,700.
    C. 
    Applications shall be obtained from, and after completion, returned to the Department of Buildings, Parks and Grounds. Applications for specific locations shall be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
    D. 
    Upon receipt of application and correct fee, the Department of Buildings, Parks and Grounds shall coordinate preparation and installation of each plaque, and keep a record of the location of each plaque and date of installation.
    E. 
    Plaques shall be of a size, style and material as determined by the City of North Wildwood.
    F. 
    The City of North Wildwood shall not be responsible for the replacement of plaques that have been damaged or destroyed due to vandalism or natural occurrences such as fire or hurricane. Applicants shall be responsible for replacement of damaged or destroyed plaques at their own expense.
