§ 134-1. Proper attire required; penalty.

  • No person or persons shall bathe in the waters in or bounding the City of North Wildwood between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. without being properly clothed in a bathing suit; and any person or persons offending against this chapter, or bathing in a state of nudity or whose body shall be indecently exposed for the want of suitable bathing apparel between the hours aforesaid shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and it shall be the duty of the Marshal or policeman to arrest said offender or offenders and bring him, her or them before the Mayor, and upon hearing of the matter, if the party is adjudged guilty, shall pay a fine of not to exceed $1,250 or be imprisoned for a term not to exceed 90 days, or both.
