The Mayor, upon consent of Council, as evidenced annually by
a duly adopted resolution, may issue one yearly transferable or nontransferable
municipal parking permit to members of all divisions of the North
Wildwood Fire Department, to all Municipal Department Heads and staff
as deemed necessary by the Mayor to conduct business for the City
of North Wildwood, to all members (regular and alternate) of the North
Wildwood Planning Board, to all members (regular and alternate) of
the North Wildwood Zoning Board of Adjustment and to all members of
any other City of North Wildwood Board, Commission or Authority. Such
municipal parking permits shall be valid at all times when parking
is permitted at all metered parking spaces and in all City parking
lots. When in use, a municipal parking permit shall be displayed clearly
in or on the motor vehicle for which it was issued so as to be clearly
visible to law enforcement officers. Nothing in this article shall
be interpreted as allowing a motor vehicle displaying a municipal
parking permit to park in a handicap parking space unless the subject
motor vehicle otherwise is authorized by law to park in a handicap
parking space. Nothing in this article shall be interpreted as allowing
a motor vehicle displaying a municipal parking permit to park in a
parking space or in a City parking lot when parking in such space
or in such parking lot is prohibited by duly posted temporary police
restrictions, snow emergency or otherwise by local or state law. Municipal
parking permits issued pursuant to this article shall be valid through
December 31 in the year of issue.
