§ 364-5. Removal of abandoned carts; retrieval; fee.

The City of North Wildwood may authorize the Department of Public Works of said City or any other agency of the City to remove shopping carts from the streets, avenues, roads or highways. The owners of said shopping carts can retrieve said carts upon the payment of a pickup fee of $20 and a storage fee of $1 per day. Payment shall be made to the Treasurer of the City of North Wildwood for this retrieval and storage. The City shall notify the owners of its possession of the carts that it has removed from the streets. Upon the failure of the owner to pay the above fees and/or to pick up their carts, within 10 days after the date of the notification, the City may dispose of them as trash or by any other means it deems to be appropriate without any further obligation to the owner of these carts.
