§ 71-16. Working hours.

The basic working hours for all employees in the classified civil service, with the exception of the members of the Police and Fire Departments whose hours of work shall be determined by contract, shall be from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., with one hour off for lunch at a time to be designated by the department head. However, the hours of public works employees shall be set by their department head from time to time, and the hours for members of the Police and Fire Departments, not covered by a collective bargaining agreement, shall be set by their respective department heads.
